Consumption of liquor in public places has been banned in the south Indian city of Hyderabad for a week.
City police enforced prohibition orders in view of a series of incidents of nuisance created by drunkards in several areas of the city recently causing harassment especially to women and children.
The order, issued under section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code, would be in force from July 5 to July 11, police sources added.
